the manifesto
We believe life is too precious to be lived on a screen.
Tech should be a slave for our real lives, not a destination where we spend most of it.
People, place and perspective - the things that bring joy - are now being lost to hours in infinite scroll. Many live in a state of overwhelm, depressed by a tsunami of outrage or fear-inducing content.
Children’s brains are rewiring to constant dopamine; boredom is extinct; powers of concentration, eroding; emotion via emojis; memories outsourced to camera reels.
Many live vicariously or to be ‘seen to live’ rather than invest in memories for their own sake.
Attention is the new oil in an addiction economy that has exploded to sate a consumerism that tells us only ‘stuff’ can make us happy. Companies mine us for it, leaving us empty, lonely or seeking cheap dopamine highs.
Enough. It’s time for smaarter revolution . Time to reclaim our time and attention; to get outdoors, smile at strangers and re-engage with community; to sit more with our own thoughts; to play; create; to live under, not ‘in’ the cloud.
It’s time for less scroll and more soul.
